THERE ARE some things that no one can explain: they just ‘are’! One of them is The Newmarket Blanket... It has been a favourite in the horse-town of Newmarket in Suffolk since the 18th century, but no one knows the origin of its distinctive mustard yellow ground and bright stripes at each end. Suffice it to say, of course, that the best Newmarket blankets were woven in Witney.
We have remained true to the age-old pattern and colouring, but created a softer-handling woollen throw that’s just as as right for summer picnics as for cold cold winter evenings.
